Biography
My name is Christopher Jackson. I'm a native Haligonian and for the past three
years, I've been exploring the field of digital photography. My interest in
photography began in the early 80's when I got my first point and shoot film camera.
My subjects were nature, landscapes , florals, my dogs and finally sunsets.
I am self taught in my photography. I get my inspiration from the beauty that
surrounds me, whether it be landscapes, abstracts, floral macros or animals. I
admire the photography of Joseph Robichaud (www.tanglewoodstudios.ca), Kerry
DeLorey (http://www.calnenphotography.com/main.html) and Deborah Lattimore
(http://deborahlattimore.smugmug.com/).
I joined Veith Street Gallery's Creative Spirit East collective in 2007 initially as a
means of showcasing my photography. However, since becoming a member, I've
explored different fields of photography, such as Abstracts and Portraiture. This
year I was an Artist-in-Residence at Veith Street Gallery , which resulted in my first
solo showing of Portraiture . I recently joined the Halifax Photography Society in
order to further practice my portraiture skills and learn more about the studio
techniques involved .
I hope the images you see in my display will demonstrate some of the wonderous
things you can accomplish with digital photography.
